Yongnuo YN14EX II is the second version of the popular ring flash designed for macro photography. The presented model is compatible with Sony cameras. Among other features, the flash offers TTL flash automation support, manual mode and LED backlighting for easier focusing. The ring is divided into halves. The flash power of each half can be adjusted independently from 1/128 to 1/1. Magnetic diffusers that you can easily “stick” to the flash will allow you to modify the character and color temperature of the light generated. You will also find 7 filter mount adapters in the kit, which will ensure compatibility with hundreds of different lenses.

Wide compatibility

Yongnuo YN14EX II for Sony consists of two components – a control unit that allows you to control the parameters of the device, and a ring equipped with two independent burners. You can install the latter module on the filter thread, located on the front of the lens, using the included mounting adapters. The ring light was connected to the control unit with a flexible cable with a length of 40-70 cm. Thanks to this solution, the device can be compatible with almost any lens, regardless of its size.

An ocean of possibilities

The Yongnuo YN14EX II flash for Sony supports two modes – manual (M) and automatic (TTL). Depending on your needs, you can manage the torches that make up the ring together or separately. Among the facilities offered by the flash, you will find flash power compensation and bracketing, burner power ratio or second-curtain sync. These features allow you to easily adjust the nature of the lighting to suit your preferences. Easy focusing is facilitated by two continuous light LEDs located between the burners.

Multiple applications

Although the ring used in the Yongnuo YN14EX II for Sony flash is designed specifically for macro photography enthusiasts, you will also successfully use it in portrait photography. The distinctive shape allows you to get beautiful reflections in the eyes of the photographed person. Four magnetic diffusers will further allow you to change the style and color temperature of the generated light.

Universal power supply

The state-of-the-art power management system offered by the Yongnuo YN14EX II ring flash for Sony has made it possible to reduce the time between flashes to about 3 seconds. The device is thus ready to work at almost any time. The power source of the flash is four standard AA-type batteries or rechargeable batteries. Compatibility with popular and readily available “sticks” makes the lamp usable anywhere in the world. The device is also equipped with a socket for connecting an additional external power supply.

Refined-design

The Yongnuo YN14EX II ring light for Sony is made of high-quality materials for long and trouble-free use. The lamp shoe and contacts are protected from adverse weather conditions with a rubber seal. A 1/4″ tripod mount allows the lamp to be mounted on a bracket or other accessory, and a PC socket allows remote triggering via a sync cable.
